What We Learned in Week 8

DeAndre Hopkins Has Not Lost A Step
In two games, Hopkins is averaging the second most fantasy points per game. Many experts, including myself, predicted that after an inefficient 2021 season that when Hopkins was washed going into an early suspension 2022 season. This has not been the case though, as Hopkins has earned the most (tied with Tyreek Hill) targets these past two weeks. Hopkins has turned that into the most receptions and yards and tacked on a TD along the way. Hopkins is a PPR gem who fell in a lot of drafts. As long as Hopkins can maintain these targets, he will remain a WR1.
Travis Etienne Was Worth The Wait
Etienne was a huge early disappointment for managers, as they watched Robinson blow up early. After Robinson cooled down, and eventually was traded to New York, Etienne has emerged as a top tier RB. Etienne has been a top 10 back for two weeks in a row, clearly being the lead offensive player for the Jags. He is a must start RB moving forward.
Tony Pollard Needs To Be The RB1
Tony Pollard needs the be the starter in Dallas. There is no longer any excuse. Pollard managed 3 TDs in his start, something Zeke has never done, and blew up for 131 yards on only 14 carries. Zeke is inefficient, yet Jerry Jones and the Cowboys coaching staff are locked in to Zeke for some unknown reason. Pollard is worth having on any roster, even with Zeke in the picture.
Aaron Jones Might Finally Be Worth His Capital
After a frustrating, to say the least, start for Aaron Jones, Jones has found himself in the top 10 fantasy RBs over the past two weeks. Jones has out-touched AJ Dillon 43-15 over the past two weeks and has been used more within the 5 than Dillon over the past two weeks as well. Jones is a reliable target for Rodgers, one of the few, and should see the bulk of the workload.
Vikings Loaded Offense Needs Kirk To Produce
Vikings replaced injured Irv Smith by pulling an inter-division trade with the Lions for TJ Hockenson. Hockenson now joins Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Theilen, in one of the better offenses on paper. The Vikings have the best record in the NFC North and look to be a serious playoff contender. The catch is that we need to see Kirk show up in games, which he has not been known to do. Kirk has the most talent he has ever had, and will be interesting to see how he will manage moving forward.
Rondale Moore Needs To Be Added
Rondale Moore has seemingly filled in the role held by Greg Dulich earlier this year, and is seeing consistent production from the slot. Moore took advantage of a improved role in Week 8 gaining 8 targets that turned into 7 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. Moore also saw 2 carries which he turned into 12 yards. Moore landed as a top 10 fantasy WR last week, and while that will not be sustainable, Moore could see WR3 value with some WR2 upside. Moore is a worthwhile stash that is only owned in 40.7% of leagues.
